Contractor
I am one of the lucky ones, I worked onsite at Rohr as an IT contractor for several years. I can honestly say I never worked with a finer group of people. I am sure you know all of them and know they are head and shoulders above their peers in the Business.
I left the US Navy in 1996 and after one year as an IT contract for the same group at 32nd street was offered a position with then XL Connect (later Xerox Connect) at Rohr’s Chula Vista Plant. I was there from 1997 until about 2000 which is when they decided to bring all the IT functions back in house. From Desktop Support on the Ops team to the IT Ops Manager before stress reared its ugly head and I had to slow down my pace a tad. I learned much from everyone I had the pleasure to work with at Rohr, including the few U.S. plants I got to go to.
I have great memories of many of Rohr’s finest:
George Scarcelli, Jim Bamford, Carter Pease, Gary Snider, Don Howard, Kevin Chapman, and of Course Ed Cline. In the Engineering group I had the real privilege to work with Sandy Bobek, Don Lange. Unix Admins Steve, Mike Quiros. In IT there was Nick Mondragon, Bill Theine (RIP), Dave Snyder, and in Supply the sweet Margie Krueger. There was also John Ringler and Jennifer at the Foley Plant, as well as Al Proviencio and Steve Madreas, both of these two young men were other Engineering IT Contractors at the Rohr Plant. There were many others who I have lost track of, the point being they were a really great group to work with.
Thank You Ms. Poole for helping me keep the good memories going in my mind. Love your website.
