Chula Vista
My dad, Charles William Nutt, was a man of few words and I'm in the process of archiving his manuscript/autobiography from 1992 -- the year he passed away from leukemia. He was born in 1925 and was driving from Valley Mills, TX to California on a journey to enlist in the Army. He graduated high school in 1942 and that was the year he started work at Rohr Aircraft. This is his exact wording about his stint at Rohr Aircraft: (Hubert was his brother)
"Hubert had car—-gave me keys and I found job at Rohr Aircraft—Chula Vista, California—start 60 cents/hour. Worked in cadmium plating department for real fine man (Al Bloom) from Minnesota. Worked there about a year and took test to get in Army Air Corps—Cadet Training."
