Ron served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Master Chief Hospital Corpsman in 1973. He then obtained employment at Rohr as a medical technician, and served there for 20 years, retiring in 1993. After Ron retired from Rohr, he was a handyman for a few years. Then his health started going poorly, and he fought many health issues, including cancer, until his death in June of 2020.

In addition to the anniversary pins above, Ronald also received Rohr Pride plaques and a plaque from the San Diego Blood Bank.
